Chubby Tail Kit requires removal of factory fender support brackets

Tires Depending on model and year certain tires can only be used. Example 1986-Present softails (except deuce) can only run Avon 180/55X18” tires without mods, may run 200 but you "MUST" remove fender horns. Deuce can run up to 200 mm tires. Dyna’s 1990-2001 can only run Avon 180/55X18” tires 2002’ to present can run Avon 200/55X18” tires.

Wheels All rear wheels are 18” X 5.5” usually with 2000-up sealed bearings. (All pre-2000 models will need to change to 2000-up rotors. In order to run any thing smaller than 18” wheels brake calipers will require modifying. It is strongly recommended to purchase wheels from DM Customs.

Pulley Spacing It’s important that the proper spacing is set by DM Customs to insure proper belt to tire clearance. Depending on manufacture of wheel, pulley and tire pulley spacing will be different.

Axle Spacers Depending on the wheel manufacture axle spacing can be different. Performance Machine wheels usually come with all the proper axle spacers. DM Customs will try to furnish all the necessary information for axle spacing set up and in some cases the axle spacers required.

Electrical when using DM Customs LED lighting it’s necessary to use the Smart Equalizer Plug in module to operate the LED’s which run on low current. Depending on year of bike you will need to order BT 801 alarm option (all 2000 up) or BT 802 non-alarm.

Seats Depending on type of seat used most seats will fit the fenders with out modifying. Dyna seats will require seat pan modification or use DM Customs Gunfighter seat, which is made just for the Dyna model. Stainless steel seat hold down also available.

Drive Belts- All Softail Models from 1986 to 1999 use One Inch belts. 132T or 133T depending on pulley size 65T or 70T. Chain conversion kits also available.

Dynas from 1990 to 1996 use One Inch Belts. 133T
Dynas from 1996 to 1999 use 1-1/8” belts. 133T
Softails 2000 to present use 1-1/8” belts 135T
All FLH models use One Inch belts 139T
